No, our meetings are free and open to the public, but you have to be a member to present a song.
LOTS! Although our main focus of the meeting is on song critiques, there are also mini-workshops, networking, resource sharing, learning, sharing, and camaraderie.
There is street parking all around the Patterson, including a bank parking lot, and the #10 bus stops right outside the door as well as the #13
Songwriters and those interested in songwriting, lyricists, melodist and musicians. All ages, all skill levels, all genres, all types of people are welcome. Attendance averages 15-20 people per meeting.
Very friendly, constructive and supportive. We say what we like about a song and what, if anything, we would change to make it better.
LOTS! We host a monthly open mic(see next question), publish a Quarterly newsletter, produce and release compilation CDs of members, promote each others music, hold workshops on songwriting, performing and music business, network with each other, and other community activities.
The open mic has been palced on hold as we look for a new location and open mic host.
Yes, we are a non-profit organization, currently run completely by volunteer Board Members and Officers.
We greatly appreciate donations which are tax-deductible.
Request and complete our membership form, make a check out for $25 and send it to our PO Box or bring it to our next meeting.
The membership period is January-December.
There are many: song critiques, workshops, networking with other singer-songwriters, performance opportunities, participation in BSA-sponsored events, placement of your song on the BSA compilation CD and much more!
There are no geographic restrictions for membership. We have members who live throughout the region and some in more far flung areas of the country and like to be in touch with our community and support what the BSA is all about support of original music.
We hope you become a member or sponsor of the BSA.
